Our Work
Serving the Church and Community
Our members give their time, energy and resources to support the Catholic Church, local schools, families and the wider community. Here are some of the ways we serve.
What We Do
Faith in Action
The Knights of the Southern Cross – Clayton Branch is committed to putting faith into practice through a wide range of charitable, community and social activities. Our work is guided by our values of faith, friendship, service and community.
The examples below give a sense of the kinds of activities our members are involved in. We are always looking for new ways to serve and welcome anyone who would like to contribute.
Our Activities
How We Serve
Supporting Catholic Schools
We support Catholic schools in our local area, including by providing prizes for outstanding achievement in Religion. We believe in encouraging young people to grow in their faith and take pride in their Catholic education.
Helping Families in Need
We assist families experiencing hardship, offering practical support and connecting people with the help they need. No family should feel alone in difficult times.
Supporting the Elderly
We organise trips and activities for elderly members of our community, helping to reduce isolation and bring joy to those who may otherwise have limited opportunities for social connection.
Supporting the Clayton Church
We maintain a close relationship with our local parish and support the Clayton church community through our involvement, presence and practical assistance.
Community Service
Our members contribute to the broader community through a range of service activities, working alongside local organisations, parishes and families to make a positive difference.
Fundraising
We raise funds to support Catholic charities, schools and community organisations. Our fundraising efforts help direct resources to where they are needed most.
Sausage Sales
Our sausage sales are a popular and practical way of raising funds for our charitable activities while also bringing members and the community together.
Community Dinners
We hold dinners that strengthen the Knights' connection with the community, providing an opportunity for fellowship, celebration and the building of lasting friendships.
